My research focuses on the interaction of markets, society, and public policy. I am particularly interested in phenomena that impact vulnerable consumers, a broad term that can mean those impacted by scarcity (whether financial or otherwise), children (who are developmentally vulnerable), or those impacted by large-scale changes (such as climate change or digital disruption).
I am active in the Association for Consumer Research's Transformative Consumer Research (TCR) movement, which is committed to increasing consumer well-being worldwide. In 2025 I co-chaired our flagship dialogic conference, hosted at American University in Washington, D.C. I am a member of the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing's Editorial Review Board, and a faculty affiliate with the Asia School of Business' ASEAN Research Lab.
